Next Concert: Andrew Willis and Friends

On May 25th, Andrew Willis will present a program entitled “The Brothers Bach”. This is a preview of the biannual event, “Focus on Piano Literature” presented at UNC-G in June. Prompted by the 300th anniversary of the birth of Carl Philip Emanuel Bach, whose fame during his lifetime eclipse that of his father Johann Sebastian Bach, the program focuses primarily on Carl Philip but also pays tribute to his three composer siblings Wilhelm Friedmann, Johan Christian, and Johann Christoph Friedrich. Joining Dr. Willis in the program will be his faculty colleagues John Salmon and Joseph Di Piazza, along with three doctoral students. The program consists of works by all four brothers for piano solo, piano four-hands, and two pianos.
