Pianist/organist Daniel Steinert will return to Cherry Hill on November 18th. The 3:00 PM program will feature lyric soprano Farren Hilliard and will include works by Bach, Schumann, Strauss, Brahms, Puccini, Gilbert and Sullilvan, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and other well-known composers.
Farren Hilliard is from West Columbia, South Carolina. In 2015 she completed a Graduate Vocal Performance degree at Appalachian State University. She also has a BA in Comprehensive Music in Voice from Campbell University. She has performed roles in The Marriage of Figaro, Die Fledermaus, Kiss Me Kate, Beethoven’s 9thSymphony, Verdi’s Falstaff, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, and Gilbert & Sullivan’s Ruddigore. She now works in the Triangle area where she also teaches private voice and piano at the Cary School of Music and sings with Christ United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill.
Daniel Steinert is well-known in central and northern North Carolina as the founder and former music director of the Northeastern Piedmont Chorale. He spent several years as Organist/Choirmaster at Warrenton’s Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He has been involved with organ music all of his life and is now the director of music and organist at Christ United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill. Dr. Steinert will include works on the Cherry Hill organ during Sunday’s performance.
A reception will be held in the dining room and parlors of the antebellum plantation home following the performance.
